British Columbia Hotels

British Columbia is located in western Canada along the Pacific Coast. Along with Oregon and Washington British Columbia is part of the region known as the Pacific Northwest. As such the western part of the province enjoys a relatively mild climate while the interior of the province has a colder and sub-arctic climate. The milder climate of the coastal region along with its many islands draws annually tourists to the resorts and hotels in the area. With the 2010 Winter Olympics being held in Vancouver and Whistler, Vancouver received a vital boost for its tourism.

The coast of British Columbia has been and is now home to the Pacific Northwest First Nations. Many visitors to British Columbia visit or are attracted to the area because of the interesting and high artistic quality of the Pacific Northwest First Nations wood sculpture and art. Some of the resorts and hotels are owned and operated by the First Nations.
